 United/Continental/CMI/ BA and Chief Stewards calls “Productive”

Recently instituted weekly conference calls for UAL/CAL CMI (Continental-Micronesia) BA’s and Chief Steward’s continue to be an important tool in tracking the progress of the merger. Several scope related issues have been identified as a result of the calls and the lines of communications between all cities has been greatly enhanced as a result.

ASA Mechanics Negotiating Committee to Meet

The ASA mechanic negotiating committee will be meeting in Atlanta from October 12thto the 14th.

Division to Attend Steward Training

On Monday October 10th, members of the Airline Division will attend Steward training in Orlando. Local 769 is hosting this session and the Division will be discussing the TAMC as well as other items of interest with those in attendance.

Division appoints two members to the UAL Negotiating Committee

With support from Local leadership in both cities, the Airline Division this week appointed two additional members to the UAL national negotiating committee.

Joe Prisco from San Francisco was appointed to provide additional input and insight regarding the line mechanics and Ken Meidenger from Denver was appointed to provide additional input and insight regarding the ground equipment and facilities mechanics.  

The full committee will be convening on October 18th, and formal negotiations with United resume on October 24th.

Airlines are preparing for tough conditions ahead, as growth in air travel slows and freight activity declines, an international airline group says. The organization reported a 3.8% drop in the air-freight market in August, compared with the same month the previous year.
