Negotiations Begin for Frontier Mechanics and Materials Specialists

Section 6 bargaining began for Frontier Mechanics and Materials specialists on February 28th and 29th in Denver. The parties met to pass documents formalizing the process and to try and establish ground rules for the discussions. This is the first post-bankruptcy agreement for these groups and the bargaining committees for both the Mechanics and the Materials Specialists are eager to begin the process in the hopes that they will be able to restore many of the concessions they have suffered.

In attendance for the Union were Rank and File Mechanic members Daren Dunham, Jeff Dunkle, Christopher Hoadley, Nanhe Leadens, Dan Pimentel and Larry Tekler. Rank and File Materials Specialist Members in attendance were Randy Sommers and Earnest Marcil. They were joined by Local 455 Business Agents Matthew Fazakas and John Hennelly along with Airline Division Representatives Clacy Griswold, Bob Fisher and IBT Attorney Ed Gleason.

In attendance for the Company were Jackie Peter, Michelle Zeier, Drew Dunlevy, Mick Cobb, Nino LePaz, Gregory Meyer, Sean O’Donnell, Gary Hamrick, Don Wortman, Steve Ray, David Rogers and counsel from Ford and Harrison Tom French.

Future dates are being scheduled and will be released when the parties agree.
