The Negotiating Committee met with the Company in Los Angeles on February 24, 25, and 26, to
continue working toward a tentative Agreement.
The Union and the Company exchanged proposals on Article 2 – Definitions. The issue that
remains open in this Article is the administration and content of the trade tests. Article 2 will
remain tabled and a subcommittee will review the administration and content of the current trade
tests. The subcommittee will meet with the Company and will report it’s progress to the
Negotiating Committee.
After exchanging proposals with the Company on Article 4 – Seniority, the only item that remains
open for discussion is the Classifications and Crafts.
The parties exchanged proposals on Article 5 – Filling of Vacancies, Article 6 – Reduction in
Force, Article 19 – Grievance Procedures, Article 20 – Board of Arbitration, and Article 21 –
General and Miscellaneous. The parties tentatively agreed to Article 19 and Article 20. The
tentative agreement of these two Articles will stream line the Grievance and Arbitration process.
Articles 5, 6 and 21 remain open.
We will meet once again with the Company on March 30, 31 and April 1 in Houston, Texas.
