We are flying together under FAA single operating certificate
Thanks to 18 months of hard work by our co-workers, we received approval Wednesday from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a single operating certificate (SOC).
The SOC gives the FAA a single point of oversight for our combined operations. More than 500 co-workers participated in aligning policies and procedures across the two subsidiaries to obtain SOC.
The first subsidiary CO flight to depart with a UA call sign was Flight 1284, which departed IAH for DEN at 6:02 a.m. Central time. The last flight to arrive at its destination with a CO call sign, CO Flight 86, departed Shanghai (PVG), China and arrived at EWR at 5:35 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday.
