Dear Members,
Recently there has been some confusion regarding who is responsible for the cost of hotel rooms when a member is dispatched on a field trip or training.
Article 12 (Field Trips) and Article 13 (Training) are very clear and unambiguous as they pertain to hotel rooms. Article 12.P states “When a hotel room is required while on a field trip, the Company will provide a single room to the employee at no cost.” Article 13.Q states “The Company will provide single hotel rooms for an employee when in training away from his base.”
This is our contractual right and the company’s negotiated commitment. No member should be coerced or persuaded into using his own personal credit card in order to make a hotel reservation.
