Dear Members,
The negotiating committee met with the company this week in New Orleans, LA. The committee agreed on Article 11 – Sick Leave with only economics left open in the Article in order to reach a tentative agreement. Article 10 – Family/Medical Leave and Article 16 – Benefits were exchanged as well as a list summarizing the status of the Letters of Agreement.
The summarydetailed whether the LOA's should remain in the CBA, be modified, or removed from theagreement all together.
Mr. Tony Iannone, our mediator is unable to attend the dates previously set for Cleveland on April 26-30, 2010. Therefore, the meetings with the company are canceled for that week. The negotiating committee will use this time to review and prepare future proposals to hand to thecompany for Article 1- Scope and 15 – Compensation.
We are also in the process of requesting pertinent plan data and economic information from the company concerning benefits in general,including but not limited to medical, CARP, and Long Term Disability.
