Allegiant Pilots to Picket over Subpar Working Conditions and Compensation
On Tuesday, January 13th, the Teamsters pilots at Allegiant Air; members of APA Local 1224 will be holding informational pickets at multiple locations in their airline system.
These events will be a visible demonstration to Allegiant Air and the larger industry that the Allegiant pilots will not tolerate subpar working conditions and compensation. The pilots of Allegiant Air have been in negotiations for two years with little to no progress.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a final rule to mandate that domestic passenger and cargo airlines implement safety-management systems by 2018. The requirement is intended to ensure that airlines are gathering and analyzing data to reveal safety risks.
The Federal Aviation Administration is making its runway simulator airport capacity program available publicly for aviation applications. The program simulates airport operations including arrivals and departures, flight operations and runway assignments, generating a mix of airplane types and variable demand.

Boeing delivered 723 aircraft in 2014, an almost 12% increase from the prior year. Meanwhile, Airbus said it delivered more aircraft in 2014 than its 626 deliveries in 2013, but declined to name a specific number.
American Airlines pilots will vote on management’s latest contract proposal starting on Wednesday with voting ending on January 30, the Allied Pilots Association said on Friday.
